Smoking Cessation
There are approximately 46 million smokers In the United States and nearly 1.2 billion around the world. Smokers are at a much higher risk of serious medical conditions, from cancer to heart attack to strokes. While many of them try to quit, quitting itself is challenging: the average successful quitter has tried quitting 7 times before.

Voxiva's Smoking Cessation program supports smokers through their quit process, sending them tips on how to quit smoking for good, providing them interactive support and tracking their performance throughout the program to encourage them and hold them accountable. Everything in the program is personalized-the messages themselves to the role their quit buddy will play to the goals they set and use to track themselves.

Enrollment:
Participants can self-register for this service via mobile phone or web or they can be enrolled by their provider. At the end of the enrollment process the participant is given access to their own "Quit Smoking" account.

Smoker Profile:
Once enrolled, the smoker completes a basic survey to provide demographic information such as age and geography as well as smoking history. HealthConnect knows no two smokers are the same so the system uses these profiles to customize the quit plan and personalize their experience.

Content Delivery:
People trying to quit need to know the benefits of quitting as well as tips to help them stop. The system delivers personalized messages according to the support protocol and "quit date." The goal of these messages is to give the smoker personalized educational and support they need.

Two-Way Interaction:
A smoker who is trying to quit needs more than frequent text messages or e-mails with tips to help. The system is uniquely designed to interact with the customer by messaging daily check-ups and providing the quitter with a "panic" button. This allows quitters to ask for advice and suggestions on how to deal with cravings in real-time, so they don't feel so alone while quitting.

Quit Buddy:
Participants can register a friend or family member who will help them along the way and automatically informs the "buddy" when the smoker is quitting, craving or lapsing. The "quit buddy" system creates another network of support around the customer and increases program efficacy as a trusted "buddy" can help hold the quitter accountable.

Quit Diary:
Quitters can input their smoking information (e.g., the number of cigarettes smoked before their quit date, number of cravings) into the system by text message or web. This information makes up their "Quit Diary" which provides people with a constant health companion and a personal record to keep track of treatment.

Personal Health Record:
The system analyzes the Quit Diary and provides charts and graphs for the quitter to see on a personal profile. This data collection will include a "cravings monitor," a "savings calculator," and a "health monitor." Their results can be easily accessed via their profile and they are able to monitor their progress and areas of improvement.
